Chemistry (Hons), MSc. Environmental Chemistry and PhD. Inorganic Chemistry degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Prof. Boadi worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom from July 2011 to December 2013 as a beneficiary of the Leverhulme-Royal Society Africa Awards, where he worked under Prof. Paul O’Brien, FRS, CBE, of blessed memory, researching into novel single-source routes to the synthesis of lead chalcogenide nanoparticles and thin films. His research interests include Environmental monitoring, assessment and toxicology with a focus on water quality, food chemistry and food quality, food additives and contaminants, heavy metal toxicology in various environmental matrices and persistent organic pollutants in various matrices. He also researches into the synthesis of metal-organic complexes that can be used as single-source precursors for the synthesis of metal chalcogenide semiconducting nanoparticles and thin films. His research has produced twenty-seven (27) peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals and several conference papers. He won two BSU(II) Pilot project grants (2015 and 2016) of ten thousand dollars (USD 10,000) each and has currently won a KNUST Research Multi grant of thirty thousand cedis (GHS 30,000).
